For 24-Hours with my BFF, Chik-fil-a Dates, & Enough - Seven Gratitudes, vol. 27

#SevenGratitudes is a year-long weekly series is about cultivating thanksgiving in the midst of the everyday, pausing to allow our hearts and minds to catch up with the waves of grace in our lives.

So glad you're here this morning! And I’d love to hear a gratitude from your neck of the woods. (These things multiply, you know.) Throw one down there in the comments if you like or blog in our link up.

Happy Friday, beloveds! I hope your week has been filled with opportunities for growth, rest, and creativity. Thanks for joining me for #SevenGratitudes this week. For anyone who is new, this year-long weekly series is about cultivating thanksgiving in the midst of the everyday, pausing to allow our hearts and minds to catch up with the waves of grace in our lives.

These little thanksgivings are small stabs at the shadows, the lies that would keep me from seeing the movements of God and Her beloved community. Gratitude is a practice in resistance.

I’d love to hear a gratitude from your heart! These things multiply, you know. Throw one down there in the comments if you like!

This week I am grateful for…

Today is packing day! The long-awaited move is nigh! Aaron and our dog Barkley leave tomorrow in a big moving truck for the big state of Texas. Therefore, I have much to be thankful for, and very little time to articulate it. But the moment counts. Appreciation matters—attentiveness to grace makes a difference.

Wherever you find yourself today, beloveds, I pray yours is at least one moment of tickling gratitude, the stuff that reminds us that this life is ablaze with the presence of God.

This week I am grateful…

For Wonder Woman, Zacchaeus, & Braids - Seven Gratitudes, vol. 23

#SevenGratitudes is a weekly practice of thanksgiving. Several of my friends and I take a moment every Friday to search out the ways grace winds itself around our day-to-day. We share these moments in order to revel in the Reality of God’s nearness and love for each of us and, indeed, this whole creation.

Thanks for joining.

This week I am grateful...

1. For Wonder Woman.

As my friend Laura said earlier this week, I did not know how much I needed a movie like Wonder Woman until I saw it. I am thankful for the empowerment of watching a female person discover the fullness of her identity, the complexity of humankind, and just how she will respond in her god-given vocation with strength, dignity, truth, and love.

It was deeply moving, in a way that superhero legends can only be, to see a woman rise mightily to reckon with the world for the sake of the good. A woman.
